13,000 year old Skeleton

On Monday Mexican archaeologists decided that they are going to extract a 13,000 year old Skeleton at the bottom of a very large water hole in Mexico. The skeleton was once a teenage girl. The girl fell and drowned in this hole many years ago. The body was discovered in 2007 but now they have decided to take the body out of the water and study it. Down where they found the body a couple years ago they also found many different animal skeletons that were strange.  The girls skeleton was almost fully assembled still, and the divers are trying to figure out a way to take it out in one piece.

Bobcat

On Monday the 12^th of May in Scottsdale Arizona at a spa was a baby bobcat found. The employs noticed a noise coming from the walls of the building. They told their boss and the boss called an electrician to come and figure what that noise is. The electrician came and took down part of the wall where the noise was and he found what they think to be a 7 week old bobcat.  The thoughts they had about how it got there is that sometimes cats and other animals go on roofs to nurse there babies because it safer, and maybe the little bobcat fell down a vent or something and the mother couldn't get it out. They are going to nurse the little baby for a couple weeks and then take it to a facility where it can be raised with other bobcats and then eventually released into the wild.

Prom King

      This girl named Skyler Galliher from Las Vegas, Nevada was crowned Prom King this past weekend.  Some parents and other people don’t think this should have been allowed because she is a straight girl and it’s not “traditional”.  Her and her friend wanted to run together to receive crowns. They both won and the prom king says that a lot of students are inspired by her to stick to what they want and to not give up if you want something bad. She explains that just because it’s a king’s title doesn't mean that girls can’t receive it also.  She gives the example of the president. Just because there hasn't been a girl president yet doesn't mean it’s a man’s title.

10 year olds caught with pot

          On Wednesday two fourth graders were caught selling pot to other kids at a Colorado elementary school.  The two boys stole the pot from their grandparents. There were more cases of them buying edibles from other students and eating them while in school. The cannabis they stole from there grandparents was legally purchased by the grandparents from a cannabis shop. The parents were informed that the kids will be getting in trouble but they have not come up with a discipline action for them yet. It is said by the police department that children 10 year old and younger cannot be held responsible for their actions.  There punishment is still being decided.

Alien Sittings

A little town in Kentucky has spotted aliens. Many people have come to the police reporting there sittings. They have seen them in fields, there space ships and weird lights that aren't normal. Police don't really know what to think about it because they themselves haven't seen any aliens. Since the sittings of this in Kentucky there was announced other sittings in different states. The United States is becoming worried about this trying to figure out what they are doing here.The local police stations are talking together and planning a sit out in the fields to see if they can see what everyone is talking about for themselves and go from there.

Marijuana Curing Seizures

     There is a new study trying to figure out how Marijuana can stop children from having seizures. A family heard about pot having CBD which helps with seizures but THC causes seizures so they thought if they could have low THC and high CBD then they would try to give their child this pot. These brothers made this plant called Charlotte's web and it has that exact mixture.  A family took a chance and gave it to their 5 year old child that would have a seizure everyday almost, and could only say a couple words and was in a wheelchair. Now she can say complete sentences and she is mobile and can run and jump and stuff. They don’t know why this has improved her but they are going to keep doing it while they try to find the study. They have supplied this drug to about 300 other patients and 2,000 others on a waiting list.

Methamphetamine

      On Monday of this week there was a suspicious package that was coming from California and being delivered to Hawaii. The California police got a search warrant and sent it to Hawaii so that when the pack is delivered they can look through it. They setup a fake ups guy that was actually a police man and gave it to where it was originally going.  Then that guy that received the package drove to a house about 20 miles away from where he lived, to give another guy the package and then the fake cop followed him out there and arrested them all. It was 2 pounds of meth hid inside of a mannequins head.

Caffeine is a Drug

      Last week there was a study proven that caffeine is a drug. It is addictive and could be considered a disorder for users. A college did research on how it affects people’s bodies and their reaction if asked to stop. Most people said it wasn't a problem to stop but that is only if you have one cup a day. The people that have 2 or 3 cups a day say that they can’t stop. It shows that they have side effects if they stop, such as nausea and headaches. Professors of this study have told people to cut back on their consumption of coffee and or caffeine.

Marijuana Contest

     In Colorado it has been decided that the summer 2014 fair will be hosting a joint rolling contest at the county fair. No marijuana will be on site of the county fairgrounds but for the contest they will use herbs for substitution on the plant. They also will be having a judging contest on plants and the growing of them. This will be done with pictures and different ways to show the judges there plant. The judge will also take place off site of the fairgrounds because of younger kids and families around. The county fair people didn’t think it would be right to expose that stuff to younger children as they were looking at the animals and the other plants growing there.  It is an area for ages 21 and over.  They wanted to do something different because they are known for their strange things they have there.

Drug Misunderstanding

      Last week Thursday a man’s day was changed because he did a good deed.  While this man Greg Snider was in on the phone in a parking lot, a homeless man came up to him and asked for money. Greg gave the man 75 cents and then drove away. Upon getting on the freeway Greg was pulled over by a cop. The cop seemed mad and he didn't know why. The police man told him that “he saw what he did back there”. Greg was confused because all he did was give the man money and he told the cop that. The cop didn't believe him so he asked to search his car because the cop thinks that Greg gave the homeless guy drugs. Greg didn't mind them searching his car because he didn't do anything wrong. In the mean time they police men handcuffed Greg and put him in the back of a police car. They cops didn't find anything after searching his car for an hour. Supposedly the cops laughed at their mistake and let him go. Greg was really mad and filed a complaint on them because they tore apart his car.

'420'

          In Colorado recently a mile marker sign was changed. The mile marker that was replaced was the sign mile 420 because since marijuana is now legal in Colorado pot heads would steal this sign because it is a marijuana related phrase.  It was said to be made up a while ago that was used instead of the word marijuana they would use this as a code word. Colorado smokers kept stealing it so much that they lost track of how many times it has happened. Now the sign they put there reads mile 419.99 and they also moved it up the road a little bit to make it true.

Police Prank

       On December 23^rd 2013 there was a police call for teenagers trying to impersonate police officers.  These teenagers decided they wanted to pull a prank and do this. One of the teenagers was 18 but the rest were younger so their names couldn't be given out. The one guys name is Mason Gonzales. This happened in Temecula, California.  They used a megaphone to pull over the cars but then used a bright flash light to hide their identity from the people they were pulling over and then they made them get out and lay flat on the ground and then the teens just drove away. They thought this would be funny. They later got arrested.
